Laying a Biblical Foundation

There is a growing thirst for God’s Word. A recent British study reported a 106% increase in sales of printed Bibles between 2019 and 2025. In the final months of 2025, our “Eradicate Biblical Poverty” ministry at YWAM Lausanne distributed hundreds of Bibles—far more than in previous years. While this does not automatically reverse the decline in biblical knowledge in Europe, it reflects a cultural turning point. As the effects of moral relativism become increasingly evident, many—especially young people—are seeking a truth upon which to base their lives. We see this clearly in our Discipleship Training Schools (DTS) at YWAM Lausanne. Students arrive eager for truth, but often lack a basic understanding of God’s Word or how to study it. Many choose to continue their training in one of our Bible schools after the DTS, recognizing the essential role the Scriptures play in establishing a lasting and living relationship with God. To meet this need, we have redesigned our DTS to include a stronger biblical focus. The result is the “The Way” EFD: an 8- to 9-month program offered in French, English, and Spanish, which combines an EFD with a DBS Bible school.
