My name is Diana Fillies, my maiden name is Ehrensperger. I began attending worship nights at Chalet-à-Gobet when I was 11 years old. During these encounters, I developed a desire to one day serve as a French-English translator, which I began at the age of 17. In 1985, I completed my DTS in Kona, Hawaii, during YWAM's 25th anniversary celebration. In July 1992, while serving as an interpreter in Nairobi, Kenya, during a Leadership School led by Darlene Cunningham, I met my South African husband, Edwin Fillies. On May 20, 2025, we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary, and in July 2025, we welcomed our first grandson, the child of our eldest son (we have four children).

Our family has lived in South Africa since September 1998, first in Jeffreys Bay in the Eastern Cape, and then in Cape Town since January 2005. Edwin and I have been running the YWAM Muizenberg base since 2005, and over the years, we have had the joy of welcoming many Swiss compatriots, whether as students or volunteers, or young Swiss eager to improve their English.

Cape Town is our home. We enjoy visiting Switzerland but are always happy to "come home" to Cape Town. One of my favorite activities is having one-on-one meetings with our students (DTS, Bible School, Leadership School, and Foundations of Counseling School). I never cease to be amazed to see the transformation in their lives week after week. YWAM Muizenberg is very international: currently, more than fifteen nationalities are represented among our students and long-term staff. If you are looking for a new horizon to explore, come visit us.
