In December 2021, we finalized the purchase of a ship with the goal of transforming it into a hospital ship and sending it to the French-speaking world. Currently, YWAM does not have any vessels dedicated solely to the French-speaking islands.
Over the past few months, the ship, called Island Reach, has been in dry dock in Wales, its cabins expanded and medical equipment installed by an international team that has volunteered its time and expertise.
In April 2023, a volunteer crew will leave the UK to cross the Mediterranean, the Suez Canal and head for the fifth largest island in the world, Madagascar. If you are interested in participating in this journey, please contact us.
Island Reach has the opportunity to work near the coast of Madagascar to provide dental and medical care to communities that do not have access to health services. We are looking for volunteer medical professionals who would like to serve on the ship while in Madagascar. If you are interested in joining the health care team serving on the ship, whether for a few weeks or several months, please contact us.
Finally, a ministry like this needs regular prayers and financial partnership in order to serve up to 100,000 people per year. If you would like to partner with us, please contact us, we would love to hear from you.
Our goal is to set sail on April 6, 2023 - keep us in your prayers!
