A pillar of our vision at YWAM Lausanne is to see the earth “Filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.” Hab 2:14. For over two decades, YWAM Lausanne has expressly co-worked with God in the Middle East to see this a reality. For years, we have sent numerous outreach teams and pioneered ongoing ministries. This calling has led us to run the Mediterranean DTS this fall. This is a YWAM Lausanne DTS run in Egypt. Our hope is to continue to generate waves of workers to and from the Middle East. Furthermore, we know that to progress in the long-term work God has called us to in Egypt, we must run a DTS there for many of our local leaders and translators. We hope that this will bolster the team we have planted in this nation. With the blessings and partnership with the local YWAM Leaders, we are excited to take this next step!
Much of our ongoing work in Egypt is our community development centers within Sudanese refugee communities. The opportunity for them to do a DTS is minimal, and we believe God has called us to serve them with the ability to do a DTS. Vital to the learning environment within a DTS is the variety of cultures. Our initial DTS has a good blend of Egyptians, Sudanese, and Internationals.
To accomplish this vision, we have created a scholarship fund to offer partial scholarships to help make participation in this DTS a reality for those coming from an impoverished context. We are currently focused on the outreach finances, so our students can participate in missions to the nations!
