Bible Distribution

The fourth legacy statement of YWAM is “Eradicate biblical poverty now.” This vision, received by Loren Cunningham in 1967, has developed into six steps to see God's Word spread throughout the world. We want to “pray, translate, publish, distribute, educate, and motivate people to read the Bible.”

Recently, at YWAM Lausanne, enthusiasm for Bible distribution has grown. For years, we would take a box of Bibles with us on our outreach trips. We were encouraged if we could give one away after a conversation. But in recent months, we have noticed a change. People spontaneously come to the table to ask for Bibles in their language, and we have distributed dozens of them. Recently, a young man came to ask for a Bible in French. As he read the table of contents, he began to cry! He had found what he was looking for. A pastor told us the story of another young man who knocked on the door of a church, enthusiastically declaring that he had just learned that God had written a book and that the church must have a copy. The pastor was a little perplexed before realizing that he was asking for a Bible.

Distribution is essential to eradicating biblical poverty, as are education and motivation. In 2025, we organized six Bible schools and a seminar in Lausanne, with a total of about 100 students. In 2026, we are continuing to develop this aspect.
