“I meet challenges, I overcome difficulties, I overcome my fears, I win”: I'd love to be able to say that in my everyday life, wouldn't you?
Well, that's exactly what the Greek verb “Niko” means. So when some adventurous leaders invented a camp aimed at developing this state of mind, this is the name they chose: Camp Niko.
Niko became the name of a five-day camp, but it's also - and above all - a state of mind to be developed in everyday life. It's about stepping out of one's comfort zone to conquer one's full potential, seeing trials as opportunities to grow, and letting God shape one's character and sharpen one's skills.
Since 1998, Les Fabricants de Joie have run this camp more than 50 times. Some 1,400 participants have taken up the challenge. The activities over the five days are not revealed in advance to maintain the element of surprise, but the aim is clear: to get to know each other and team up with God and with others.
Today, you can still come and take up the challenge, either personally or as part of a team. There are also other versions (Niko2, Niko families, Niko urban). But above all, you can try to develop this attitude in everyday life, where there's no shortage of challenges.
