My name is Martina Kovcic, I'm 23 years old and I'm doing my DTS in Kona, Hawaii, in 2022. I decided in a hurry and signed up 3 weeks before my departure date; it was only a week before that I really understood what a DTS was, and I almost gave up. That would have been a mistake, because from the second day I was there, I was radically welcomed by the abundant love that God has for me and for all His creation. He showed me how beautiful and equal all His children are in His eyes. During the second part of my DTS, when we went on outreach, God showed me that with Him I was never alone, but He also made me understand the importance of community and vulnerability in order to create real relationships. God became my friend and mentor.
