Do we really want to see his plans fully accomplished?

YWAM's DNA is expressed in eighteen values. The sixth is “Championing young people” and the tenth is “Work as a team.” The challenge of embodying these values together in our leadership teams remains. How can we form teams where each generation is not only present, but listened to, honored, and fully invested?

Like an arrow, it is not the three parts (the tip: young people, the shaft: adults, and the feathers: our elders) side by side that will enable the arrow to hit the target! The three parts must be welded together by heart-to-heart relationships. And it is from this deep and authentic relational fabric that a synergy will emerge where the prophetic visions of some, the know-how and wisdom of others, align like the parts of an arrow to hit the center of the target (its purpose).

The results are clear: 95% of the 112 YWAM leaders surveyed, representing 37 nations on five continents, believe in this vision. The striking difference lies in intentionality. Forming mixed teams, sharing authority, cultivating listening and trust is challenging and complex. Yet it is only by functioning in intergenerational teams that we will align ourselves with God's heart and be able to fully accomplish the works He has prepared in advance.
